Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Temporary Research Assistant for the Microbiology, Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics department within New Jersey Medical School. Under the direction of Dr. Jason Yang (Principal Investigator), the Temporary Research Assistant will conduct computational and systems biology analyses of host or pathogen biological networks as they pertain to infectious diseases.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Performs computational analysis including, not limited to, network modeling, next-generation sequencing analysis, bioinformatic statistical testing, machine learning and other biomedical data analyses.
- Assists the Principal Investigator with the preparation of grant applications and manuscripts.
- Assists the Principal Investigator in written and formal presentations to industrial collaborators and funding agencies.
- Duties include computational, bioinformatic, or data science research activities. Statistical data analysis and data visualization. Figure and text preparation for manuscripts and grants.
- Demonstrates good team spirit and communication skills.
- As required, assists in the implementation of the programs and projects in special areas of interest to the department.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
