Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Program Coordinator I for the School of Arts and Sciences – Political Science Department and affiliates units including but not limited to the MA Political Science, United Nations & Global Policy Studies (hereafter, UNMA program) and Undergraduate Programs.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Provides administrative support to Senior Program Coordinator Supervisor with oversight from the Undergraduate and Graduate Program Directors and UNMA leadership by assisting with the coordination and administration of programs, projects, and/or processes and with the preparation and control of records, statistics, reports and documents.
- Responds to all queries about UNMA program.
- Works to recruit UNMA students and grow enrollment in UNMA program.
- Supports UNMA students in job market preparation and professionalization.
- First point of contact for queries about undergraduate program, and refers students to Undergraduate Advisor or Undergraduate Program Director as appropriate.
- Prepares, explains, and implements administrative guidelines and undergraduate and UNMA procedures to faculty, employees, students, and to the general public.
- Provides executive support for the department program director.
- Provides administrative support for faculty members (full and part-time).
- Assists with instructional budget, payroll, reports, maintain program web pages and listservs, disseminating information to prospective/current students and to the public.
- Serves as the liaison between faculty/staff and part-time lecturers, teaching assistants and undergraduate/graduate students.
- Resolves routine conflicts and issues.
- Participates in decisions regarding organizational and strategic planning as it is full time and in direct daily contact with students and all administrators.
- Completes other work consistent with a basic understanding of the mission, vision, role and goals of the Department of Political Science.
