Physical Plant Supervisor

     The Physical Plant Supervisor reports directly to the Associate Vice President of Operations and Business Services and is responsible for the operations of the maintenance, grounds and custodial departments as well as serving as a key leader in emergency preparations, responses and on call coverage. Provides leadership and enforcement of safety practices and procedures in compliance with all applicable federal and local regulations and requirements. Meets regularly with supervisors and leaders to discuss best practices and assist with employee supervision. Prepares and submits quarterly reports to the direct supervisor on operations, projects, maintenance problems and system performance.

     Under general direction, manage skilled trade workers and technicians to perform projects to construct, renovate, and maintain buildings and other campus facilities. Plans needs for major campus activities, including Commencement, Man-Up, etc. and plans projects. Coordinates staff plans, schedules, and prioritizes work assignments. Recommends when to contract-out. Inspects and approves work of contractors. Provides customer interface, response services, dispatch services, work order input, and maintenance. Monitors expenditures and other duties as assigned.
