Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Phlebotomist I – Per Diem in Clinical Laboratory – Phlebotomy/Accession Area for Rutgers, University Behavioral Health Care.
The primary purpose of the Phlebotomist I position is to collect blood specimens from patients and prepare all samples for processing by the laboratory.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Collects proper specimens correctly and efficiently.
- Processes/enters samples in the Laboratory Information System as required.
- Organizes work accurately and efficiently for processing.
- Helps co-workers when needed and communicates with laboratory departments when needed to ensure orderly workflow.
- Follows all organizational and department policies and procedures.
- Responsible for following the hospital exposure control plans/blood borne and airborne pathogens.
