Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Mental Health Clinician II various School Based Programs within the North, Central and South Jersey school districts within Rutgers, University Behavioral Health Care.
The Mental Health Clinician II coordinates and provides comprehensive mental health care and related services to children and adolescents in schools. Assists in the development of treatment plans, including referral for appropriate level of mental health services. Demonstrates competency in assessing and treating children and adolescent (5 – 18 years).
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Assumes overall case management responsibilities for assigned clients including coordination of treatment, scheduling of groups, and liaison with community agencies.
- Provides individual, group, and family psychotherapy as clinically indicated to assigned clients including children and adolescents (5 – 18 years).
- Conducts accurate assessment and involves client and/or family in developing achievable and understandable psychosocial treatment plans in accordance with accepted professional and University Behavioral Health Care standards.
- Advocates for appropriate resources for clients and families based on assessed needs in accordance with professionally accepted standards.
- Completes appropriate client records in a timely manner as mandated by University Behavioral Health Care policy and according to accepted professional and evaluation standards.
