Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Mental Health Clinician II for the Specialized Addiction Treatment Services (SATS) Department within University Behavioral Health Care (UBHC). The Mental Health Clinician II participates in the assessment and treatment of the clinical needs of individuals and families with substance abuse problems. Assists in the development of appropriate treatment plans and assumes overall clinical and case management responsibilities for assigned consumers. Coordinates care with psychiatric service and other levels of care. Provides clinical peer consultation to staff and interns. Provides individual, IOP group, family counseling and psycho-education to promote recovery for the identified population and interfaces with community resources on their behalf. Provides clinical consultation to other departments regarding addiction problems.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Provides clinical assessment, treatment and case management for individuals with addiction problems.
- Provides individual, group and family therapy as clinically needed to assigned consumers.
- Assumes overall case management for assigned consumers, including coordination of treatment and liaison with community agencies.
- Maintains appropriate records in a timely manner.
- Maintains knowledge of trends and developments in the field by attending meetings training events and educational workshops and seminars.
- Maintains and applies knowledge trends and developments in conjunction with the specialized treatment requirements for each grant funded contract.
