Position Summary:
The Mathematics Department of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville invites applications for a full-time, 9-month lecturer position beginning August 22, 2023. Position is anticipated to be ongoing.
Salary for this position is $40,000.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include teaching freshmen/sophomore level mathematics or statistics classes. Teaching assignments will be dependent on the qualifications, background, and experience of the successful candidate.

Qualifications:
- A graduate degree in mathematics, mathematics education, or statistics is required.
- Applicants must have a strong commitment to teaching; preference will be given to those who present evidence of successful classroom teaching experiences in mathematics or statistics.

The College of Engineering, Mathematics, and Science (EMS) enrolls approximately 3,100 students in ABET-accredited BS degree programs in Civil, Electrical, Environmental, Industrial, Mechanical and Software Engineering, and Engineering Physics and BS degrees in Mathematics, Broad Field Science, Chemistry, Computer Science, and Sustainable and Renewable Energy Systems. The College of EMS also participates in a statewide Collaborative Engineering Program that allows place-bound undergraduate students to complete their BS degrees in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering with minimal travel. In addition, the College has an online Master of Engineering program, which has been designated as a “Best Buy” in online education.
The Mathematics Department, in the College of Engineering, Mathematics, and Science, has 20 full-time tenure/tenure track positions, and regularly employs an additional 6-10 academic staff. The department offers undergraduate degrees in mathematics, mathematics education, mathematics with an emphasis in actuarial science, mathematics with an emphasis in finance, applied mathematics and data science. The department also serves programs in engineering, science, technology, business, psychology, and criminal justice. Class sizes are approximately 30 students.
