The Department of Anthropology at Rutgers University – New Brunswick invites applications for a one-year, full-time Lecturer position to teach 15-credits of Anthropology during the 2023-2024 Academic Year. A qualified candidate will be expected to teach courses in human behavioral ecology, primatology, human genetics and quantitative methods, teaching a course load of two courses per semester plus one mini-course (1.5 credits) in the second half of each semester with the topic of their choice, totaling five courses per year. The proposed courses are 01:070:201 Evolution and Human Behavior, 01:070:212 Life of Primates, 01:070:316 Quantitative Methods in Evolutionary Anthropology, 01:070:240 Introduction to Molecular Anthropology, or 01:070:329 Human Evolutionary Genetics. The successful candidate should be qualified to teach 01:070:102 Introduction to Human Evolution as well as upper-level Primatology and Human Behavioral Ecology electives if needed, and to organize an annual one-day Big10 undergraduate research conference on research opportunities, in support of department Diversity-Equity-Inclusion goals. Finally, a successful candidate would participate in the Certificate in Evolutionary Medicine and be available to teach the evolutionary medicine colloquium.
