Gannon University’s Morosky College of Health Professions and Sciences is seeking applications for a tenure track faculty in the newly developed Master of Science degree program in Speech-Language Pathology in Erie, PA. This is a full-time, 12-month position with an academic start date as early as July 2023. Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience. Applicants with experience in the areas of fluency disorders, voice disorders, cognitive communicative disorders, dysphagia, and AAC preferred, but open to expertise in all areas within the scope of practice. Responsibilities for tenure-track faculty include classroom teaching, clinical supervision, advising graduate students in academic and clinical aspects of professional growth, active research/scholarship, and service to the University, profession, and community. The master’s (M.S.) program in speech-language pathology at Gannon University is currently in the process of applying for candidacy status from the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
This position is available to begin July, 2023. The successful candidate will report to the SLP Program Director as his/her immediate supervisor.
The essential functions of a full-time faculty member at Gannon University are summarized below and are detailed in the faculty handbook, Volume IV of the Institutional Policy Manual.
1. Teach 24 credit hours in the academic year or as otherwise specified by the faculty member’s appointment notice; student course evaluations are to be completed in each course. Faculty are expected to employ sound pedagogical practices and to use technology as appropriate, including the University’s learning management system. Faculty shall assist with course revisions and curriculum development, as needed.
2. Achieve appropriate student-learning outcomes in all courses taught.
3. Engage in scholarly pursuits pertinent to their academic discipline. Scholarship, as defined by the Boyer model, includes The Scholarship of Discovery, The Scholarship of Integration, The Scholarship of Application, The Scholarship of Teaching, and The Scholarship of Engagement.
4. Participate in service to the University, the community, and to their profession. Attend convocations, commencement exercises, and community meetings.
5. Participate in ongoing professional development.
6. Assist, advise, and mentor students enrolled in the University.
7. Fulfill the essential duties and responsibilities of a faculty member as described in Volume IV of the Gannon University Institutional Policy Manual, which contains the approved policies and procedures of the University concerning the terms and conditions of faculty employment at the University.
