The Assistant Athletic Trainer is responsible for: prevention of athletic injury & illness; injury evaluation, assessment and management; rehabilitation of athletic injury and supervision of athletic training students. The position will work directly with student athletes, but will also supervise the athletic training students covering various other sports and any additional coverage needs as determined by the Associate Athletic Director for Sports Medicine. This position will also be responsible for assisting in policy and procedure development and the education and counseling of student athletes and coaches.
The Assistant Athletic Trainer will also assist the sports medicine staff in various other areas as deemed necessary by the Associate Athletic Director for Sports Medicine. The Assistant Athletic Trainer will be responsible for maintaining a commitment to NCAA Rules and Compliance.
• Must be certified by the National Athletic Trainer’s Association
• A minimum of a Master’s Degree is required
• CPR certification
• Must be eligible for an Ohio Athletic Training license

• Strong written and verbal communication skills required
• Flexibility in work hours/days
• Ability to function as a member of a sports medicine team
• Demonstrate professional and ethical behavior
